TACO SEASONING
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Tbsp Chili Powder
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1/4 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
DIRECTIONS
- Add all ingredients above to 1 1/2 to 2 pounds of meat to season it for tacos or any Mexican dish.
- You can easily multiply everything by 4 or 8 or more to store in a Mason Jar and already prepared, on hand, and ready to go.
DISHING ON THIS DISH: Black pepper is very high in oxalates, so substitute with white pepper or coriander if needed. Onion powder is also high in oxalates so you might just leave it out. If you are wrestling with allergies I found that when I could only use a few spices, oregano, cumin and sea salt were enough to give a really good flavor. If you’re avoiding nightshades Chili Powder, Paprika, and Red Peppers are spices you don’t want to include here. For kids, 1/2 if this recipe is enough, and again, even just a little bit of oregano, cumin, coriander, and sea salt is enough to spice it up. Be sure to buy fresh, organic, spices.
